are there any write ups on changing out the piece of junk plastic master cylinder pushrod that comes off the clutch pedal? also swapping out the clutch interlock switch & hooking up a switch for bypassing it so any ideas/help on that would be great.
thanks!

now i'm reading that you have to change out the whole master cylinder just to replace the pushrod, anyone know anything about doing this? i'll be stuck in a parking lot so doing what i can to get it running will be helpful. when i get it home i can better care for everything

The factory master cylinder kit comes with an all-metal clutch pushrod, but it's not listed seperately, at least from Ford. I'd suggest asking a few parts stores, or getting one from a salvage yard if that's doable. It's a pain changing out the whole master cyl just for a broken pushrod, and I regret doing so since my clutch pedal has never been the same since. It'll take some work to pull the old one out with the master cyl still installed, but it's tons less hassle.

If all else fails on getting one, buy the kit and use the pushrod, then save the cyl for replacement down the road when needed.

changing the pushrod wasn't too bad, the thing that plugs into the clutch interlock switch in all kinds of chewed up though. anyone know the proper term for this plug?
