Are clutches the same for a 92 ranger and 92 explorer? 4.0 liter v6 of course. I would assume so but i thought i had better ask to make sure.

Thanks

as long as they are both 4.0L and have the MAZDA 5spd tranny, they are the same. Make sure you dont have the Mitsu.

How do I know the difference between the two trannies?

Well, Im about 99.9999% sure that you have the Mazda. I don't think they used Mitsu's on 92 Explorers. Check your tranny code on the drivers side doors.
It should say M for Mazda 5spd. Or check out the Ranger Station for tranny info and pics. Again you most likely have the Mazda 5spd, I just threw the Mitsu thing in their to cover my but in case someone came back and said that some oddball explorers came with mitsus...........
Sorry for thr confusion.

Al
