code scanner location

I can't find the connection for a Code Scanner in my 2010 explorer. Looking for a good scanner any ideas? quessing my obd-1 wont work?

Look on the left side of kickpanel, above hood release and under dash.

Lots of good scan tools/code readers out now in the 100+ to $250 range. Scangauge II also worth considering.

Is it in the same place on the 2007 XLT?

Yes, for all North American Explorers it is in that location for the 2006-2010 model.
