98 5.0 V8. Just got a 300 code, went to a 301, cyl #1 misfire.
What is the best way to troubleshoot either the coil pack, or the injector?
Thanks
Ron

Anyone?

Anyone with a thought on this?

Thanks for the replies

Got it handled. It was the coil pack.
$58. @ NAPA 15 minutes and we are good to go.
Again, thanks to all for your timely response.

Thats great that you figured it out. I had the same issue not to long ago. I to was getting frustrated and was afraid it was an injector(cyl 2 misfire). I went the easy route and swapped coil packs to see if the misfire would change cylinders, which it did. Later that day I purchased a set of Accel coil packs from advanced auto. Goodluck with your explorer, the 5.0's are very reliable as long as you maintain them, as with any vehicle.
