'96 4.0 upon cold start-up, tranny slips (no power to wheels) in "D" range only.
I can accelerate in a lower gear and then shift up to "D" with no slippage in any gear. When tranny is warm and/or not parked for a while, there is little to no problem.
I am hesitant to stray onto back roads fearing a lower gear failure.
