I got a 91 explorer 4x4 v6 4.0

The truck cranks over but takes about 10 seconds to start only when cold?

I have changed the fuel pump (pressure is @ 35-40lb,) changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires oil ..etc

when the truck is warm it starts ok

can anyone tell me how to diagnose this problem or what i need to change or look for

thanx

By chance do you have a Haynes Manual? My Haynes manual for the 1991 to 2000 Ford Explorer, in the Troubleshooting section, says the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) could cause an "Engine Hard To Start When Cold" condition. It also tells how to test it in the truck.

It also says some of the things you have already replaced could also cause the same problem.

Have you pulled any codes from the truck's Electronic Control Module (ECM)? If so, what are they?

Keep in mind that there can be codes stored even if the CEL is out. Pull the codes.
