Hi

First I would like to excuse me for my poor English (but I'm from Sweden).

Recently you guys helped me out in fixing my airbag indicator - great! (and cheap) But now I have a second problem.

My Explorer is an 1999, 4,0L non modified. When cold starting the revs (RPM's) is pending (vary) from 500 to 3500 for about 2min. After this the revs is stable and my Explorer is rideble as usual. Even so, it is quite annoying that I have to wait for the revs to stabilize before "hitting the road".

My first guess is that there is some temperature indicator that either is broken or have a poor contact. My second guess is that I could find the problem in the "airflowmeter" (this is an direct translation from Swedish).

What do you think, have you experienced the same problem, where should I start?

Apreciate your comments and problem solving

All the best

/ Mikael

Maybe check the idle air control valve. Coukd be stuck. Just a thought. Usualy when the start going out the truck will not idle and will die. But maybe it is stuck open. Best of luck to you.
