Can anyone tell me where the sensor is that tells the computer that the engine is cold or warm? When I try to start my 94 explorer xlt when warm it is floodinig itself and runs rich until it gets back up to normal operating temp. If I let it sit for about 4 hours or more then it seems to start fine. Otherwise it is very difficult to start and once started it is very rich until the temp gage gets up to where it usually runs at. Help???? If you are thinking the injectors are leaking, they are not. They held pressure with engine off for quite some time. I checked it with a fuel pressure gage and at idle I have 35psi. After I shut it off it drops to about 32 and holds. I've replaced the relay, regulator and pump. No change. It also seems to have gotten progressivly worse.

Mine has started the same thing. Floods the crap out of itself on startup. I have replaced the fuel pump(shot), FPR, fuel filter, replaced manifold gaskets, reomved and cleaned fuel injectors and replaced orings, and all the other tune up items have been in the last 5000 miles or less. And of course, it hasn't tripped the Check Engine light once. Any thoughts from others would be apprieciated. Oh and after it starts and clears up, it's been running better than ever.......go figure.

Count me in

I seem to have the same problem as you guys. At first I tought it was my MAF but after cleaning, did the same. FPR was changed last year, fuel pump 3 weeks ago (dyed in rush hour trafic), plugs are almost new, other than that engine is in working order??? So am waiting for answer, if there is.... HELP!

Bump

Can anyone help us!

Mine started about a year ago and has got progressivly worse. Now it does it every time. Hopefully somebody can shed some light on this. What an expensive thing to try and diagnose. HELP

FIXED

I just wanted to let you know that I got the problem fixed. There is a temperature sensor that tells the computer if the engine is hot or cold. It was bad therefore causing the computer to send extra gas for a cold start and flooding it. I hope this helps
