I have a 02' Explorer XLT and recently my compass is backwards. If I am heading North (N) the compass reads (S), If heading West (W) the compass reads (E). Anyone see this before?

There is strong evidence that every few millenia, the earth's poles change polarity. Yours is but one current vanguard example of a possible change in our lifetime. ;)

Check your manual for the section on setting your compass alignment. I don't think it would be that far off, but you never know.

Your compass' calibration can get screwed up and there's a procedure for fixing it. I don't know off hand, but you have to do something like hold the "mode" button for a few seconds until it flashes some message. Then you have to drive your vehicle around in a circle (slowly) like 3 or 4 times (do this in an empty parking lot to avoid running over the dog/kids/etc).

If that doesn't fix it, the easiest solution would probably be to replace the console, they are pretty cheap on ebay.

Good luck,
Blue

Yup, there is a set up in your owners manual.
Cake.
