I replaced the lock, latch ,and actuator on my 97and the door has its own mind. It is reversed , lock is actually unlock, and unlock is actually lock on the passenger door only. Both lock buttons give the same results on the passenger side front door.

I tried another actuator , same thing, I even cut the wires at the actuator and reversed them and still the passenger front door is opposite to the rest of the doors.

The switches both work, except the dam passenger door is always opposite to the rest of the doors.

It makes no sense , if I reverse the wires at the actuater and it is still the same. Backwards on the front passenger door .

Help.

Pete

What the heck

Why did you replace the actuator to
Begin with?
I’m guessing there maybe a problem with the latch itself?

I replaced the actuator because the door was not locking properly. the latch is new too. this is obvious a wiring /module or some electrical mystery.
Point is the door lock /unlock is backwards. Reversing the leads at the actuator doesn't change anything other than the color code at the splices when I reversed them.
There must be a solution to get the actuator working in the right direction without breaking the bank.

Can check out the door lock relay maybe something odd
Going on with it

I would be curious to try the lock actuator without being hooked up to anything see if it still “runs backwards”

I'd wonder if you have shorted wires in the door hinge boot.

There's 2nd gen wiring diagrams linked in my sig. within which one named door-locks-1-of-1.pdf shows the circuit.
