I've removed the compass/outside temp gauge and have been able to get it to read out again and then after a day or two it will stop functioning. Any ideas as to why this happens?

Try searching the forum posts. There was a post awhile back where the poster had the same problem and it was the result of a cold solder joint on the circuit board. I'd pull it again and carefully check the circuit board for broken or cold solder joints.

RE: Compass-Outside Temp Readout

Hey thanks for that information...I found it but think I will wait until Ike passes through our area over the weekend.

Doh! Don't wait...get the hell out of there if you can! I got an email yesterday that all our offices in Houston shut down at noon and sent everyone home to deal with Ike. God Bless you all and good luck.

We've trucked in over 500 generators to Houston, Victoria, and Richmond so far- this will be interesting- the storm is as big as the gulf!!
