I have a 93 Ford Explorer Limited with a 4.0 v6. The air conditioner had been working fine until I got in it the other day and no ac. Looking under the hood the compressor doesn't come on anymore. What could cause this to happen overnight? I have checked the fuses and everything seems to look fine. I put a tester on the wiring coming into the compressor and it shows no current. What do you think? Thanks for your help.

There is a plug on the bottle looking thing that holds the freon. If the freon gets low it will tell the compressor to stop turning on. Unplug it and take a piece of wire and jump the 2 pins on it. Turn your ac on and the compressor should be running. If it is , you are just low on freon. If it doesn't turn on you have a bad compressor or relay or maybe a blown fuse somewhere.
