1997 Explorer A/C will not come on!

Just joined and need some help. I have a 1997 Explorer Sport with a V6 4.0 liter engine. The problem I have is my A/C compressor is not turning on. I had added some freon a few weeks ago and it was working find. Any suggestions?

Welcome to this forum! The system might have a leak. Check to see if there is any pressure in it.

I had the same problem and it was the low pressure switch. I got a replacement for about 13.00.

You could temporarily bypass the low pressure cut off switch with a jumper wire to see if the compressor clutch engages.
