Ok, after taking off my ac compressor clutch and pulley i can see my compressor end shaft is leaking. What is the best way to remove and replace this seal?

The manual shows a tool kit you need for this procedure.
Removal

Remove the A/C clutch; refer to the procedure in this section.
Use (A) O-Ring Tool to remove the (B) shaft seal felt from the nose of the compressor.

Clean the compressor nose area.
Use (A) Snap Ring Remover to remove the (B) shaft seal snap ring.

Insert (A) Shaft Seal Remover into the (B) internal diameter of the shaft seal.

Turn the tool handle clockwise to expand the tool tip inside the shaft seal.

Pull the seal from the compressor.

Installation

CAUTION: Do not allow dirt or other foreign materials to enter the compressor.

NOTE: Obtain a new A/C compressor shaft seal kit. Carefully remove the contents of the kit and inspect the plastic shaft seal protector for burrs or other damage. Do not use if it is damaged.

Clean the compressor nose area.
Position the (A) shaft seal on (B) Shaft Seal Protector.

Lubricate Shaft Seal Protector and the shaft seal.
Use Compressor Oil F2AZ-19577-AC or Motorcraft YN-12b or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
Position the shaft seal and Shaft Seal Protector over the compressor shaft.

Use Shaft Seal Replacer to install the seal.

Remove Shaft Seal Replacer and Shaft Seal Protector.
Install a new snap ring.

Conduct a leak test of the A/C compressor; refer to Section 412-00 .
Install a new felt seal in the compressor nose.
Install the A/C clutch; refer to the procedure in this section.
Check and adjust the A/C clutch air gap; refer to Section 412-00 .
Evacuate, charge and leak test the system; refer to Section 412-00 .

thanks for the info. I actually talked to acsource today. they also have the tool to do this but it is 70 bucks. But i think i can borrow one from somebody. Have you actually done this procedure before? Can I do it on the vehicle or do I need to remove the compressor for best access?
