i have been out of the explorer scene for awhile, but am back into it now. i have a 96 explorer. truck has 210k on the engine, but had an upper rebuild @ 110k due to cracked heads...
should i get a programmer at all? this rig will be my daily driver/commuter and also a recovery vehicle should my toyota get stuck, it is also a family hauler.
would it be worth it? i would probably jsut have an 87 octane power setup. i plan to upgrade the tranny with a valvebody upgrade and shift kit
ok, so looking at things, it appears the sct xcal2 is what to get for the 96 ohv.... who's tunes? what do they mean? does the xcal come with tunes already? who do you buy them from? what are the differences? i have seen xcal2 and xcal2 with a backlight, which is better and why?
do they modify shift points?
can you use it on 2 different vehicles? rather can i install program a on one of my trucks, and then the same program on my other truck? i htink i read something about this is not possible?
there is james (forget his username)
doug @ bamachips
i can get the xcal through them? i have seen explorerexpress and ford parts network sell the xcal. should i be buying from them? i dont get how all of this works....
there are plans to do a cat and back and also plans on a mac cai (off topic, is the mac cai worth it compared to a kkm? which is not advertised as a cai)
