Cone Filter Conversion Part Needed?

I know with the 1st gens you need a conversion piece for a cone filter but do you need one for the 2nd gens or does a cone filter(KKM OR K&M) just hook right up?

Some second gens have flat filters and some have stock cone filters. For either KN makes direct replacement filters that fit in the stock airbox. To fit a large cone filter like come in the FIPK or the KKM kit, you need an adapter to fit the large filter to the MAS.
 






they sell adapter like that MAF adapter at Home Depot in the electrical section i believe...it's a 3" opening too. check those out
 






What kind of filter do you now have, flat or cone?
 






I didnt look too hard, didnt think there was 2 kinds, but when i was checking the oil it just looked liek an airbox like my old 93 had, if the cone is inside that then i dont know if there is suppsed to be a cone instead of the airbox then I have a flat one.

Ill get back to you when im not lazy.
