Confused and need help

Hi my name's Jason, I am having an issue with my 97 expedition Eddie edition. When I'm driving my speedometer goes crazy the majority of my drive. And when it goes out my rpms go up and and I cannot accelerate until it wants start working again. It driving me bonkers. I changed the speed sensor and swapped my dash b/c I know when they start to go it screws things up. I know there is something stupid I'm missing. Any suggestions??

Welcome, Jason. Do you get a CEL when the speedo & the idle go crazy?.

Could be that you mite need a trans filter I had the same problem I put a new trans filter on and it fixed it on my 1993 explorer 4x4
