Connecting rod bolts/nuts

Starting the rebuild process of my 92' 4.0L. I need to know if the rod bolts/nuts are re-usable. The Haynes manual for my Ranger 4.0L says they are, but the Haynes manual for the Explorer says they have to be replaced.

Unless they are damaged or have been over torqued in the past, they can be reused..18 to 24 ft-lbs..

where exactly did you see this? I've looked thru my Haynes and see no reference to replacing rod bolts.
