Continental Tires??

Hello all. I am looking around for some new tires. I want to get something a bit more aggressive than I have now and what the Explorer came with (Trailblazer's). I went to a tire store yesterday and they offered me Continental SUV tires. Does anyone know anything about them? I've never heard of them. How do they compare to other brands. Also, they would give them to me for $95 each...a total price of $500 for the tires, alignment, and balancing. Does that sound reasonable? Any other thoughts are welcome. I basically want something for the good ol' winter here in NY. I'm gonna have to be driving in snow to get to work, but also want something that would be a good all around driving tire as well. Much thanks ahead of time.

Those tires are crap. Do not buy them. Snow tractions sucks with them. Definately go for another tire.

BFG A/T IS A REALLY GOOD ALL AROUND TIRE. YOU CAN GET 31/10.50/15 FOR ABOUT $109 APIECE CHEAPER SOMTIMES.

Tires

The Michelin LTX M/S are good in snow. According to Michelin, they are actually better in wet slushy weather than the LTX A/T (all terrain). Michelin also suggested to me the new Cross Terrain (which is supposed to give a nicer highway ride) but my tire dealer said that the LTX M/S is still the best in snow. For overall winter weather (snow, slush, rain) look for a tire with lots of little sipes that go to the full tread depth.

Ok...what about Wrangler tires. They also tried to sell me on those, but said the Continental's were better on wear and temperature. They would give me the Wrangler tires for $90 each.

I like the Dunlops, AT's are rated good for all terrain. I have them and my Dad does also on his Bronco.... Just don't get talked into 6ply like I did. it rides like the tires are made of stone. BUT I do have about 50% of my tread left and I have about 45k on these tire. Dunlop Rover AT's are a lot cheaper here even with the shipping (doesn't include mount ballance and aliagn though).

I'm reloading with Pirelli Scorpion A/Ts just before winter, $87 delivered with no shipping from www.discounttiredirect.com. Great reviews. Gotto go with the 235/70/15 size, no 225/75s.

Have you had experience with the Scorpions or are getting them based on the reviews? Any info on you experience in winter conditions would be helpful.

A friend has them and loves them for street use and that's all I would use them for. I've had a lot of success with my Gooyear Wilderness HTs, not the ATs which were recalled. Got 50K out of them and there is still a year or more of tread on them. Unbelievable.

I've been doing some more research on tires and keep being drawn to the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's. Even though they are a new tire, they've recieved great reviews from users. Another member has them and loves them as much as you Hokie. They seem to fit my purposes. Anyone else have them and would like to comment? Thanks

I also recommend the Bridgestone Revo Dueler A/T, but the Regular Dueler A/T is also a great tire

Also suggest the BFG AT, its good for snow especially
