Ok so ive driven explorers since i was 16 and swear by them....i have had a couple of 2nd gens and acouple of 3rd gens, and like many things about both...the one thing i loved about my 3rd gen is that the v8 had a true transfer case. now i understand the 2nd gen v8 awd wasnt bad(i had one) but i like the control trac setup honestly.yes i understand i can put the 4406m (manual shift kit) into it but im looking to aquire a eddie bauer or limited because of the high end center console. my question is will one of the control trac transfer cases fit behind the 4spd auto, and what mods will i have to make out side of the transfer case, electronics and possibly the drive shafts? if this has been done before and i somehow missed it in my search then i apologize. thank you in advance.
