I think the best process for a project is to buy a parts truck that is 4X4. This is so you can have a ready supply of parts, and are able to see what needs to be changed that is different than what you have.
As for finding a step by step for this you will probably be out of luck, this is not a common upgrade. Most people would find it is cheaper just to sell their 4X2 and buy a 4X4.
I did a conversion like this years ago to a Ranger. Got the 4X4 parts dirt cheap and had the time. This involved replacing the engine crossmember to mount the axle. We also changed out the engine/trans/transfer case from the donor.
This is why I suggest having the donor right there.
If you are able to take on this level of work you should be able to do it without a step by step.
A better idea if you are going through all this work is to convert your truck to solid axles. This might not be any harder to do and will give you a much more capable 4-wheeler. There are many threads on these types of conversions across the web.
