Converter won't lock up.

My A4LD transmission won't go into lock up.There are no error codes in the computer.
How can I check the converter cluth?

I also have a 91xlt that won,t go into lockup.I have been told that the converter clutch cylinoid is faulty.The tranny works fine except for this and I don't drive the highway alot so I have not fixed it.I also have a computer code for this but my engine light never came on.

Most likely it is the solenoid. However the converter could just be bad. The stock converters are famous for this. I would have it looked at, because if the converter clutch takes a dump, it can send material through your whole tranny. Can cause you serious transmission problems, or can lead to a rebuild. There are upgraded converters available with a much better lock-up clutch and brazed fins.
