Hello all,

well I bought a 96' explorer for a few bucks, lost in a farm...
It's rutsy, but I' m ok with body work. I have a few bristish cars which seem to like rust too ;)
The frame is good and the tranny seems to run good too.

It has a coolant leak, apparently from the head gasket, smokes pure withe at the exhaust and some coolant has mixed with oil.
I'll check if it's not a cracked head when I'll open the engine, but this does not frighten me that much.

I ordered all the gaskets at rockauto, far cheaper than at a local store.
Online: 200$ for whole set of gaskets, cover gasket, bolts and so on, local same price but just for 2 head gaskets and bolts.....

Anyway, I'd like to know how to clean the oil system, what to put in there to clean it like it should.
Of course I'll do a full oil change with filter but I saw some additives and I'd like to know if someone already used some and if it's really working.

Thanks a lot !
