My sister's 2001 Explorer 6cyl is pouring coolant from the exhaust and giving off some steam too. She says it never overheated and there is no water in the oil so I'm hoping it's not a head gasket. When I first checked the engine codes I got p304 which is an engine misfire on #4 cyl. Now I'm getting p304 and p305, misfire on cyl #4 and #5. Could it possibly be the intake gasket? Or even the water pump?

sounds like an head gasket if you are have misfire on 2 cylinders and coolant coming from the tail pipe that how my ford ranger done when i took and replaced them on it so i would take and do an head gasket job and make sure you don't have anything else messed up in the motor too just to be on a safe side of things

Agree with Ranger Man, your head gasket is definitely blown. You are getting the cylinder misfire codes, steam and coolant from the exhaust because their is coolant getting into the combustion chambers. Sorry to confirm the bad news.......:(

Yea Id even guess blown head gasket :/
BUT, its a chance to get in the engine and make sure everythings all good again once your replacing it :D
