So your saying the temp gauge just stays on the L when the truck is running, like even right after it is started? If that's the case it's either the temp sender or the gauge. The sender is probably easier to replace and not too expensive, I would start there first.

thank you Willard for getting back on my problem. I let the Ex sit all nite to
cool down. I just went out a little bit ago an started the Ex. the temp guage went straight to hot (L). It aint even hot. I had a old temp sensor from
the old 4.0 . I changed the sensor last nite . but this one could be bad too.
I have drove the ex several 100 miles since I replaced the engine. It never
went past the O on normal. now as soon as you start it . (cold start).
It shoots straight to (L). I will change the temp sensor fri or sat.
thanks again . I will let you know if this fixs the problem:):)

You may want to also try grounding out the wire from the sensor to ground and see if it pegs the needle on the gage if it dose not then the gage is bad if it dose then the gage is most likely good.

Changed the temp. sensor today . was a %^*&$$$ . Had to remove alt.
and bracket to get it back in. Put it back together. started ex. Guage
went to "c" till I started truck. It went to the "a" on normal . no further .
Ran ex. for 1/2 hr did not over heat. Have not grounded guage to see if it moves to hot. There is a engine temp sensor on the other side of
thermostat . Could this be bad ? Changing this next week.

Fixed Temp . guage took screw put in sensor wire shoted out to see if
guage maxed out . guage did max out . put wire back on sensor started
Ex and guess what ???????????? Tada . It now works:chug:
Didnt chane engine temp.sensor . :D Working on code problem now .
Man why cant we just go back to the good old days ,before all these sensors ?

better fuel econ, better performance across a wider range of conditions, better engine life.

better fuel econ, better performance across a wider range of conditions, better engin

I understand this . but it was so much simpler to work on engines with
out taking 3/4 of the engines apart . I love old school .

Glad ya got it working again,
Like you I too mis the old school when it comes to working on cars but I have to say I love the new school for MPG and also for how long a motor last .

I have a 94 Ex limited . The guy I bought my ex from broke the fuse block under
the dash . So it just hangs now . The drivers power seat dose not work unless you
play with the fuse block . The lights inside flick off an on when you touch the fuse
block Dose the power seats run through the inside fuse block ? Can any one tell me any thing about the wiring to the power seat . The passanger side works fine .
Thank you .
