Anyone have a specific brand, part number and source for copper header gaskets that work on the GT40P heads? Anyone use them on an X specifically and can give results?
I decided to be a cheap @@$ and use the included gaskets that came with my FMS headers. (You know where this is headed) I got everything bolted up, torqued down, EGR boss welded/fitted and ready to run. Took it for a little spin around town. Felt good, sounded good. Time to take it out on the highway and give it a good kick in the pants. Hey, what do you know! One full throttle run and now the drivers side sounds like a time bomb!
At least the passenger side is sealed up now!
So, I unbolted the drivers side, retorqued from center outward and wahla no difference. man this is fun, I'm getting so good at tearing these headers off I should open up shop.
Lesson for today: When smart people on this board say to use copper gaskets LISTEN to them or be a jack@@$.
I feel much better now
