So last night when I finally got my new belt tensioner put on and fired her up, shes throwing a CEL code now, but IDK what it could be, shes running great, and everything, but then I remembered way back when I did the SF treatment, pulling the brake booster line out, that little rubber seal/gasket type thing tore, cus it was dry rotted I guess, and its not a closed seal now, it leaks, (just air?) but when the engines off, you can hear the pressure hissing, could that be the cause of my CEL being on do you think?

I keep forgetting to run to AutoZone or Murrays to pick a new one up. (its not plated yet, so its not been driven besides my neighborhood.)

without the actuall code our assistance in limited. but a vaccum leak can cause the the fuel/air mixture to be lean with can throw a code.

Yes, a vacuum leak can cause CEL's, usually it's related to a lean fuel condition.

Yeah, it was running a little rough, I only moved it to the other driveway, but I wont be able to get codes, unless I throw my 92's plates on it, and drive it to AutoZone all the way across town...does that cost anything? (Ive never done it before...) Would it be worth it to buy my own code reader?

I also noticed when i was turning the wheel sometimes, idk how to describe it besides like it was pulsating, almost like a thumping force feedback...could that be my belt slipping??

So what originally happened was when i seafoamed my 92, same method, i broke that little seal, so I swapped the one with my 95, so I thought hey, why not switch back and see if I still get the CEL...so I swapped again so the 95 had the good one, still got the code, but I didnt unhook the battery or anything. I just did about 5 mins ago, how long do i leave it to clear the codes?

Did you move the truck or turn the steering wheel while the belt was off?
If so, the rack just needs to bleed a bit. Turn the steering lock to lock (with the engine running) a few times and everything should be back to normal with the steering.

Yea, I had to push her out of my garage, and to the right a bit, then pushed it back, and left, how do I lock it?
Thanks for the input from everyone btw, it helps me a ton!

what the term "lock-to-lock" means is turn the steering wheel full one way till it stops, then the other way till it stops.

Ahhhh i feel stupid now, I actually opened my hood and was looking on the pump itself LMAO.

Ill deff do that tonight around 11 when I get home though :D

I hook the STI to the Signal return and it works fine.

Rest of procedure is the same aside form the hooking things up. You can erase the stored codes by pulling the wire out when they're blinking. Just collect your codes, write them down, and restart the test. When it starts blinking, remove the jumper wire/paperclip. The connectors are pinned to the front of your megafuse box on the driver inner fender behind the battery.

Yea, I found them, lol I cleaned them off a bit too, doesnt look like that cover has ever been taken off.

So what do I need, just a paperclip? (And pen to write them down)? Or do i need some kind of light? Would an LED work?
