I was wondering if anybody can confirm whether or not the under-dash fuse panel in the 2018 Explorers is supposed to have a plastic snap-on cover over it?

I was removing a no-longer-needed accessory connection under the dash in my 2018 Sport, and noticed that all of the fuses in this under-dash fuse panel are exposed, to dust, etc.

Seems to me that there would be a plastic snap-on cover on this "Smart Junction Box" panel (as I "thought" my no-longer-owned 2018 XLT had); however, I have so far been unable to find any such covers on the Ford Parts website for THIS particular vehicle, except for the one that is under the hood.

If anybody can confirm that it exists (and better yet, the part's "name" and actual "part number", it'd be greatly appreciated!

It doesn't look like there is a cover

In the manual it states:
Note: It may be easier to access the fuse panel if you remove the finish trim piece

Yes, I think you may be right, as I also researched Ford Parts for one for my recently-departed XLT, and none came up for that vehicle either!

I guess I am just thrown a bit that there apparently isn't one, as every other later-model Ford vehicle that I've owned also had a cover over the one under the dash.

Anyway, THANK YOU for responding; it's much appreciated!

Sure thing. But leave it to Ford to make it so difficult to access it in the first place lol. “If you can’t reach it, dust can’t either” must have been their mindset

I can say for sure there is no cover. I just pulled a few fuses the other day.

And yes it sucked getting in there.

I know, it is amazing to me how difficult it is to even SEE the fuse box, way up in there! You have to be a contortionist to actually change a fuse, I suppose...
