Yep, I got some "Pop ins" for my truck. I'll post pictures tonight. They cost about .05 apiece. Mine are black plastic inserts. Measure the diameter of the whole and go visit a "Nut and Bolt" supply store ( Check yellow pages ) They should fix you up.

Or buy white ones and a bottle of touchup paint to colormatch.

Hole cover

Or you could fabricate some rocker panel covers out of aluminum diamond plate, use about 4" wide strips, and start just under the door jam, fold them under the under rocker panels. Attach with SS oval head philips sheet metal screws. I did this when I wanted to cover the holes left by removing the factory ground effects "tupperware" from my '93.

the picture would help i am not sure what you are talking about. thanks SEAL

Jeff, Rob is talking about plastic "push-pin" type plugs. They look kinda like a mushroom with a flat head. The stem is 1/4" diameter with ridges that will hold them in place when you press them into the holes. The head is flat and about an inch in diameter.

Does that description help? If not, go find a new model Eddie Bauer and look at the fender flares. There will be gold ones holding the fender flares onto the inside of the wheelwell. You will see gold one inch plastic circular heads holding the flare to the body. Gofast suggested a generic store because they are cheap parts. You could get them from the Ford parts dept but they are a lot more expensive, and you'll need to buy about twenty of them.

ok i know what you are talking about, do you think i could get them at homedepot or a truevalue?

Congrats Jeff, These are my first ever pictures posted.

Now to post a few pictures of my truck in the conversion thread.

Good Luck

You could always weld them up if you don't plan on putting them back on again. Then just repaint the rocker panel or Rino them.

Thanks, i think those will look great expecially since my explorer is black. where did you get yours? Thanks for you time SEAL

I went to a wholesale distributer for Nuts & Bolts. You have to look around in the yellow pages to find them. I would think Homedepot or Truevalue should have them.

Good Luck.

are those the trim panel type clips?

You can always go get a can of Herkuliner and just coat the rockers. That's what I did without a problem.

Herc and snap-ins

James, Yep they are. These did not have the long center section that looks like a bunch of round plastic circles stuck togather. These had a ridge that snapped in place once you pressed them into the hole.

Like Leebo said my next plan is to cover them all with "Herc" stuff. I have a friend here locally that is very familar with using Herculiner. I'll get his help when the truck is ready. ;)

thanks gofast. i didnt know ford made a 1994 explorer gt :) j/k

My money tree is dying.....

Jim, They don't make a GT, at least not in 94. But, for the everyday low price of 1 billion dollars or $10K in my case you can have one built.....( Check the conversion thread for this referance )

Good Luck

i know they dont make a gt i was just kidding. what conversion thread were you talking about?

Covering Holes in my '93 Colander

Ray:

You're a genius with your diamond plate solution. We call it "checker plate" in SW Flourdough.

Now to figure out how to do that job an a WorkMate with a 3 penny finish nail and an old Wilkinson "Sword" razor blade...
