Ok, so I want to do something with my taillights that's new and creative. I had this idea, how impossible would it be to take them to a sheet metal shop, have them make something up that has curves similar or the same as the tails (with light holes of some sort) then weld that into where the taillights go, paint it and all that....so basically there is just a smooth transition from my rear quarter panels right into my taillights, and it all looks like one piece of metal??? Is this possible at all? Am I just crazy?

It's certainly do-able. It just depends on the quality you want. The nicer it is, the more it'll cost.

Also, do you mean to keep the factory tails under the metal? If so, how are you going to change the bulbs when they burn out. You have to unscrew the taillight from the body to reach the bulbs. If you weld metal over it...

If you just want to put new bulbs in an fab some sort of bulb holders in tehre, you still need to figure out how to get in there to change the bulbs.

Other than that, it sounds pretty cool.

i was thinking shelf the factory tails, and if there was some way to make like access holes in the inside in that plastic, to change the bulbs, but i dont know how i'd go about that...i dont know, just an idea

You could always smooth out the openings with metal, an then use the taillights from another vehicle. They could be smaller and fit better in place of the Ford lights.
