Cruise buttons

The other day i was driving down the road messing with the bottons for my cruise control and i noticed that there was a mark on one of the buttons and when i went to pick it off i scratched the button and took the black off and its bugging me can i replace this one side of controls, or is it hard?

There are threads about replacing the light bulb inside the switch a couple days ago. Do a search, seems to me the switch is an assembly and goes for around $60. Can you just touch up the "paint" on yours??
