Cruise Control issues 2003 4.0v6 4x2 Auto Power doors windows

My cruise control has now stopped completely. In the past it woked intermittedly now nothing. Indicator light flashes but no engagement.
Any ideas? Vaccum leak? I'm open to sugguestions.

2003 Sport Trac Cruise Problem

I'm fixing to tackle the same problem as soon as I finish this reply. It's my wifes truck and it's been working off and on as well. I'm going to remove the steering wheel and check the wiring. I'll be in touch. I like working with electronics so it doesn't bother me to do the repair on Christmas Day. By the way, Merry Christmas!!!!

If you HAVE had the recall done...check the added part for a burnt out fuse

My fix was on the brake pedal. There is a small box attatched. Take the box off and clean the copper contacts. It's worked fine ever since. Easy Too!!!!!! I think it's called the brake stop switch. Let Me Know. Also, there are 3 cruise fuses......
