I got a part # fron an old post for the C.C. light bulb.
It was F32Z13466H. I got the bulb today and it is not the right one.
I need the type that has a " bolt type" head on it.
Any one else done this?
Am going back to the dealer tomorrow to see what they say and any info would help.
Thanks....

Hey Bill, I just went through that same ordeal with the dealer near me. I used that same part number. The parts man ordered that number, and two others he happened to run across in the computer there. None of them were the right ones. All the ones he ordered had a large black, square back, not a small blue, bolt type back. He told me that I was out of luck and that there are no replacements. I don't think there are any replacements.

He was nice enough to give me some bulbs that wouldn't fit for free. The bulbs look the same, but the sockets are different. Since mine don't work anyway I'm gonna do some surgery on them to see if maybe I can rig something to work.

If you find some, order me a couple, and I'm sure some other guys on the boards will want them too.

Well I just got done putting in that stupid light.
I pulled the new light out of the base and it has long wire contacts like a x-mass tree light.
I snipped off the wires on the nut type base and removed the bulb.
I put the new bulb in the nut type base and bent the contact wires around the "ears" that hold it into the circuit board and turned it in to the board.
I had to remove the air bag and unscrew the cruise pad holder in order to get the connector pins lined back up. You would have to do that anyway if you replaced the whole pad.
Be sure to disconect both battery terminals and wait two min. before messing with the air bag!!!!!
Took about an hour...

Wait a sec Bill, how did you get the new bulbs to work in there. What kind of bulb did you use?? I know that the stock bulb is built like a Christmas light, with the wires coming out the side. I too tried to rig something up, but I couldn't find a bulb that was short enough to go into the switch assembly. Please elaborate on your fix; I am very interested.

Stephen, I used the bulb I got from the dealer described in the first post. Its the right bulb just the wrong base. Got to put new bulb in old base. You could solder it in but I'm a wire bending kind of guy.

Thanks a bunch Bill. Looks like I'm heading back to the Ford dealer for the bulb again. How much did they charge you for them??

Cant remember for sure...$5. or so....

Sounds good, I'll just used the part number you listed in your first post and try to do the swap myself. Thanks again.

Got a fix for you all with cruise control lights that are out, get part number E5RY*13466*BA , its from a ford contour, and fits perfectly, the bulb is slightly longer but in no way hinders operation. Take the blue (or whatever color) cover off the old bulb and put it on this one, and reinstall, To remove just pry the outside tword you, and you can access the bulb that way.. takes about 30 seconds.... small needlenose plyiers for the bulb, and presto..... you have working curise lights....

Doug

ltools, thank you for that. I'll check my nearest ford dealer for those bulbs next week. Were the bulbs very expensive? Where are they supposed to be used in the Contour?
