In light of my horrid idle, I bit the bullet and went to Ford to make an appointment. They checked the status of 00M12 since I had 00M11 done already. 00M12 was still open, so either my intake gaskets never got replaced, or they did and the other dealer didnt mark it as being done. Either way Hopefully I'll get it dropped off in a day or two and itll run better. <crosses fingers>

If not, theres this sweet new Mustang GT with a five speed....... and man, those Lightnings look nice in Sonic Blue.....where did I put that for sale sign?

Man... those intake o-rings ARE your problem. We just did my GF's 00M12 a few weeks ago and it runs cherry now. Before, hers would barely run in the morning. It was horrible. I'm fairly certain that this will cure your problem as well. :D If not, Sonic Blue Lightnings are cool!

ONP (Owner Notification Program ) 00M11 has nothing to do with ONP 00M12. ONP 00M11 had to do with front sway bar links. ONP 00M12 has to do with leaking lower intake manifold o-rings and noisy camshaft chain tensioners. Ford would have only performed ONP 00M12 if your Explorer exibited signs of bad o-rings or tensioners. They wouldn't have just completed the procedure for no reason. Also, ONP 00M11 has been superceded by a recall 00S47. Until an ONP becomes a recall, Ford will only fix the item if they can verify that it has failed. Once it becomes a recall (such as 00S47) Ford has to replace the item wheter it has failed or not.

OK, I guess the service writer had the wrong number for the tensioners, because he said M11.. but at any rate, my tensioners were replaced some 17k ago. Surprised they didnt do the gaskets too

Thats how my GF's was too! She had the newer tensioner and galley plug deal.. but the o-rings were old and shot!

If Ford replaced your tensioners under 00M12 without replacing your o-rings, then they violated Ford's procedures for 00M12. If that is what happened then you have every right to expect them to complete the job at no charge regardless of whether or not you are still under the programs extended warranty or not. Here is page two of the letter all dealers should have received regarding the program, notice at the top regarding what the dealers were instructed to do:
