well i started my custom exhaust yesterday, consisting of an "H" pipe and two 40 series muflers, you may recall i had the swept side exit 50 series suv muffler exiting right behind my passenger side rear door before the tire, i originally took this project to a shop but they couldnt finish and the welder sucked, i said just sell me the parts and i will finish it somewhere else. so i had a friend weld the h pipe and i will have a friend at a shop down the street do the final fit and run the hangers. i have pics but i have them at home, this is my work computer, if you want to see it just give me your email and i will send you the pics of this very fun custom job

btw i have a 98 xlt 5.0 with a cai and i have a superchips programmer being mailed, thanx chris

Sounds good. Nice to see someone else build their own exhaust too. I built my own on my 92 Ranger when I put a 302 in it. You can see pics over here.

I too welded up my own h-pipe and stuff. Seems to work fine :) I had to weld the entire thing up in sections with flanges and then bolt it all under the vehicle. My welder didn't fit under the truck (it's lowered) and I don't have a big shop lift. It was quite a lot of work tacking all the pieces, checking fit, adjusting etc. etc. until the next section fit and then finally welded it up solid.

Post some pics of yours.

Later
Malcolm
