CV joint removal ,, please elaborate on POP

doing the PS side CV shaft on a 1996 EX... used the write up here and got 90% of the way , everything is removed or loose but the shaft is still in there. The write up says it should "POP" out but mine is in there pretty good.. The hub side came out no problem , but the engine side is stiff. am I missing something, are there screws to remove behind the rubber to get the shaft out ? I'm in pieces so any help on what to do is appreciated, I just don't want to kills the shaft as it has to go in my 2000.

Just stick a pry bar between the end of the CV axle and the diff housing and pry. Not too hard, and pull on the axle shaft while you pry. It will come out, I promise.

you were right.. popped right out of the socket... getting the shaft out took some science..

i am trying to get the half shaft out (drivers side, front wheel drive) and it is a real pain.
also, trying to get the hub & knuckle removed from the cv spline on the passenger side.
any tips would be great.........
