Well I went ahead and made the emblem. I was able to get a guy to sell me the two VW emblems I needed for this one very cheep and I just wanted to have it for future projects.

This is the one I was taking about making:

If you want to redo "street" how about instead of buying VW logos you pick up an XLT, XLS, and MOUNTAINEER instead. Then you will have the propper fonts to match EXPLORER on the other side.

They don't match my emblems. If you have a 2nd gen they match. But the 3rd gen are different.

I really like the way the emblems have their difference. It looks like they are to be that way. The STREET is bold block in the same font as the EXPLORER is Italic in the same font.

yesterday i bought a heat gun and wanted to shave the emblems. my bro thought about leavin XPLORER and ive thought about it too. i took off the E and the XLT on the opposite side. I think it looks tight. i might take off all the emblems soon but i think it has its own uniqueness to it right now as XPLORER.
