I think they would except the wing nut would cause a bump in the carpeting. I think a flat sheet of rubber with spray on glue. This has been a very hard process in my back yard and a little time to work each day. I have 5 plugs changed and 3 wires. It's not missing finally. I have to go down the road to advanced auto to clear and check the check engine light. I should get plug number 5 in tomorrow then if that works well in will change the wires. The old plugs electrodes were almost gone. It looked like a huge gap.
