I bought a used '97 Explorer that has a "kill switch" mounted under the steering column, near the emergency brake release. It is a cylinder type, with the words "ACE II" stamped on it. Problem is, I did not get the key with the car, the previous owner is either moved or passed away, and I cant locate him.
I would like to get a key, if its not a torture fest, or remove the kill switch. (I went to a locksmith and he said he could pick it and "try" to make a key, but he clearly was not interested as he stressed it could take a little or a long time, and I would be paying by the hour. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks
