My dad just got a Chevy that took a good dive into Lake Erie. It is a 99 v8 s-10. We did the usual drain oil, diffs, tcase. We removed the plugs and it wouldn't crank.
We Wd40'd the cylinders and drilled a hole in the h pipe, got about 8 gallons of water out. After that it turns over free. It was in the water for about 2 hours but it apears little water got in the gas tank, and in the trans. The trans almost looks like it needs fluid. It was in 4wd when it went in the lake and now the 2wd 4wd and 4lo light blink like crazy. I pulled all the plugs on the 4wd system and they were all clean.
Well I guess I need suggestions on what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the 4x4 computer maybe? similar to an explorers gem module..... does it start? and a v8 s-10? never heard of the s-10 having a v8

It's not an s-10 now that I think of it
It's a short bed, regular cab, 1/2 ton something:confused: We ran out of time, we didn't get the plugs back in it. We will tomorrow morning. The trans fluid will get changed also. Its a vortec v-8 I don't know what size. It has spark and turns over good.

Update-It's a k-1500 The fuel pump doesn't cycle with the key on. Maybe it's not supposed to? 3 different dealers said the truck doesn't have a fuel pump shutoff switch. Anyone know if this is true? And if it has one where it is.
