I have a '92 EB with about 210K on it, runs great. The rear power window regulator broke. 2 questions. 1. I have read how to replace it, but how hard is it from your practical experience? 2. Should I even bother? I was thinking of just putting a piece of 2x4 in the door to hold the window all the way up.

How bad do you want it to work properly? If you are going to go through the trouble to take the door apart to put a 2x4 in, then just go ahead and fix it. The local junkyard should have one to fix it with. Or get one off ebay or LMCtruck.com.

Just a my $0.02

...It's easy enough a girl can do it...:biggthump

...This should help as many of the replies were from people who had 2x4's propping their window's for the longest time...

...BTW, the glass will slide down around the 2x4 but as long as you don't care about someone easily entering that window, it's all good..:D

Thanks for the replies. I rigged up this ridiculous bungee cord contraption to keep the window up until I find a cheap regulator.

Sweet, lets see some pics...

...X2...Who know's, you might be on to something...:D

Screw the 2x 4 and the bungee cord. You can get regulators at Advance Auto Parts or AutoZone for relatively cheap. I did. They were a snap to replace.

When I bough my 'X' the rear Drivers had a 2 x 4 in it. It was tight and held up fine for years. About 10 months ago I bought this Later model Regulator with no cables to put in. I cleaned it and Greased it up. Not a hard job. so long as you can get the Rivets drilled out. Smoothest window in the car now.
Funny how the 'newer' version regulator is basically an old fashioned style. You pull apart any 1970's car and they have this setup over the stupid Bicycle Cable setup.
