when i take the nut off the first pic there is NO movement and it really on there. i have not tryed the second pictures bolt but if i have to losen that bolt as well i will to get it off.
it is really really tight on there when you only losen the first pic bolt!
please help me.
P.S. the front is really easy! got the one off before but never the rear.
I would think that removing the swaybar link from either the swaybar or from the fram would give you the same effect. The problem with the bolts being very tight is caused from corrosion and such. Did you use a good penitrating oil on the bolts before trying to loosen them? If not I would highly recomend doing this. Also by doing this it will help free the bolt from the rubber bushing on the frame end of the link. Once you get it unhooked the next question is what way are you going to secure it so the links or the swaybar dont get cought on any thing.
You can disconnect the first pic connection. You cannot take the bolt out, it is really stuck in there, but you can still take the nut off and slide the swaybar off the bolt. I hope that makes sense. You can check out my website under repairs/mods or ask me other questions.
that's the problem. it will not move after the nuts are off the bolts! so that why i wonder if i losen the bolt in the sec pic if that'll allow it to move some to get it all the sway bar!
Ditch the entire rear swaybar setup I know you have the Saleen bar, etc; but the front does most of the work and you won't notice the rear being gone that much. I ditched mine cause it was binding too much and it actually reconnected itself while offroad once.
haha! it is not a saleen bar. i just painted it red. not to make it look like but it goes good with the black diffy.
i'll have to remove it and not tell my dad! i'll do it sometime but only as a last resort! would really like to see if i could get it off the bolts first.
2 hammers? That's how I had to do mine once. Also have someone rock the truck up and down while you try to pull them apart.
After 5 or 6 times dis and reconnecting them the rubber bushings at the bottom of the endlinks failed, and I had to get new endlinks. After this started to happen again I just got rid of the entire thing.
I would just like to add that you may have to extend your brake lines. When I rebuilt my diff, I had the swaybar disconnected and the brake lines didn't reach. I would imagine the lines would break from the leafs pulling on them.
I just got some sway bar disconnects. Just wating to put them on. Withthese, I just romove two pins on each side and the bar betweent he upper and lower bolts comes off and bingo... no sway bar. I'll get some pics up ASAP.
