First time posting here... hoping for some insight. I read through the related posts, but my issue is slightly different. The engine temp reading on the dash is fine - starts off cold and comes up to operating temp as normal. But, I only get heat from the heater if it's cranked all the way up to 90, otherwise it's cool or lukewarm air. And... it smells slightly of coolant. Water level is fine. Could the engine really be getting too hot and it's not registering? Ideas?

Where to start? We're embarking on a 3000 mile move in about 2 weeks and I don't want this damn thing to blow up on me (again) on some mountain pass.
