I have an 06 EB 4L 4WD
My middle dash ents are closed. The dial does not work to change to floor or to merge the two nor does the defrost vents work. I stuck a stick in the middle vents to open them. The only heat I have is coming from those two vents . My question is has anyone else experienced this, and what would it take to fix this issue? Does the dash have to come off? My next question is if dash has to pulled is there anything else that I could or should be addressed while dash is off? Something like replacing cluster lights? Speed, temp, gas,etc

Check engine to heater assembly lines vacuum leak (gray and black vacuum lines came from the engine bay thru the firewall).vacuum line leaks should be checked by steering system purge like tool.
Vacuum leak location should be determined by air leak sound evidence, visually or by smoke generator

Or simply replace the whole hoses lenght with the new fresh suitable diameter vacuum hoses.

Then check blend door motor and replace if motor wont move according to blend door position dial changes (located in the center console service panel right or left)

If good come back and check vacuum actuator latch broken or bent.(located just behind the heater controls assembly)

The only reason to pull up the whole dash is the heater core or a/c components replacement procedures, inner dash harness issues or other vary rare and uncommon reasons.

Good luck
