I own a '93 XLT (CND Edition) with daytime running lights. I've noticed that when I start the truck, the daytime running lights and the high beam indicator in the dash comes on. After a while, the indicator usually goes out. Is this normal? Should the Highbeam indicator come on and if yes, should it stay on or go off like it does?

You need a new DRL module.

Thank you for your quick response. One final question. Where do I find the DRL Module and is it a pain in the a** to change?

To disable my DRL can I simple unplug the module? Will there be any other problems? :can:

Ahhhh, the classic Highbeam flashign deal...Mine did that also. The plug might just be loose/melted at the actual DRL box.

If you pull the DRL plug, the Highbeam indicator WON'T come on when you turn on your highbeams, that's the only bad side effect.

I have my drl's switched, so they can be turned off if I need total darkness, the highbeam light gets killed that way also.

As for a first Gen X, the DRL box is on the driver side , by the rad. It has wires going to the headlights, won't be hard to find. Try wiggling the connection there.
