DD Pioneer AVH-P4100 in a 97-01 Mount?

looking at 97-01 Mounty's and want to know if there is someway to fit this even though crutchfield says no. This and the stock AM/FM/CD/Cassette unit look similar sized (Double DIN)

well the only car stereos sizes i know of are single din and double din. so if they both look like double din then most likely they will interchange.

i was just reading the general information section on the website u provided and it said it fits double sized dash openings which means double din. so it will fit ur mounty.

i didnt know if you noticed but crutchfield has the pioner avh-6000dvd on sale for $499 free shipping...it has a indash 6 disc dvd changer...i installed on a few weeks ago and like it...

I had to use a dremel to open up the console a bit to get my double DIN Kenwood in. I cleared the top out flush and the bottom had to be cut away some as well. If you look there are two small radius' on the bottom of the opening where the radio goes, I had to dremel down even with the bottom of that radius.

The side was a tight fit with the bezel mount, but I was able to just squeeze it in without having to dremel the sides at all.
