I have a 99 Explorer that didn't come equipped with keyless entry, so I decicded up to call one of the dealerships here and asked how much it would cost to install it. They quoted me with $215 flat out, does this sound a little too high or am I losing my mind? Shouldn't there be OEM keyless entry system on ebay selling for cheaper than that?

that sounds about right from the dealership. they charge like 70 bucks if you just lose your clicker thing.

you should be able to go to best buy or the like and buy an alarm and keyless entry for under 200 or for a little more you should be able to get alarm, keyless entry, and remote start.

i know when i lost my sender unit thing a few years ago it was much cheaper to just buy an aftermarket alarm than to go through ford.

i would say thats a good price, i have never had it done but after you include parts thats probably over $100 then you have to add in the labor costs which isnt cheap

I guess I'm better off buying aftermarket then :)
