a buddy of mine has an import, a 3g eclipse...he used to have a jeep scrambler thou, we got dirty a few times in it...so anyway, he is wonderin if the manifold off an srt 4 dodge neon can be swapped for the manifold off an ecplise...the neon is a dohc, and the eclipse is a sohc...will it work...if so hes gonna get the neon intercooler and turbo mainfold...and the engines are both 4 cyl 2.4l high-output 16v engines...anyone know of this

This is what I got from a friend of mine that deals with these types of cars

From what I have seen, they share the same block so teh manifold should be transferable... BUT the SRT4's internals have received massive upgrades

Also, the SRT4's main caps have been joined by a much stronger girdle than that of the base engine...

sooo...

All in all, simply attaching the turbo plumbing of an SRT4 to an eclipse engine is likely to result in a blown up engine.

They use different heads and the mani's should not be interchangeable.
