You need the tools, or you can make them yourselves out of coat hanger...
Just need something to fit into each one of those four holes on the sides. I made
2 U-shaped pieces out of coat hanger and they worked perfectly. Just push them into the holes a few inches until you feel them scraping, then pull the HU out.

I did it the extremely ghetto way but I also have a 1998 X and it may be different. I jammed a small screwdriver in 1 hole at a time and pulled on the casette player so it wouldnt pop back in and I got it out like that.

Wal-mart sells the tools also. There called din removal tools for Ford.

The key to using the ghetto tools or the real ones is you pull the tools outwards horizontally when you are pulling on the radio.

I need a diagram for my stock deck in a 1994 xlt its never had a cd player in it so its still on the orignal settings.

and i figured out how to get it out but the sstock deck didnt have a digram on it :?

anyone know where i can get one ?

go buy a wiring harness so you don't cut the factory plugs off. do you have a rectangular gray pug and a smaller square plug? if so you have a premium sound system that needs to be either bypassed or integrated.
