Wow, good find. THats supper cheap for a coil over. I dont see why this wouldnt work for your truck. Reinforce the mounts and make them double shear and i think your set?

It doesn't really talk about it in the article, but I like the 3-link suspension that it has. The coil-overs come in a variety of spring rates, so I would imagine that I can get the right rate for the weight of the Explorer, but what about that suspension. I want to do this, so I'm starting my research. I have read through a lot of the SAS threads on this website, but I want to know what it would take to put together a suspension, just like that one.

To those who have gone through this or that do this for a living, what parts do I need and what steps should I take? Also, does this type of setup usually handle well on the roads, or will this make it a trailer queen?

To this date, I think there are three 3-linked Explorers: Rick's, Michael's, and mine -- all of us have SAS threads on here somewhere so I guess thats the first start.

here's a pic of Michael's on its first true run :D

But that is indeed a great price for a set of coil-overs. Great find Dignan

You are Barack Obama, right? I found your thread and started to read it. It is so long, that I kinda gave up, but I guess I'll go back and read it, unless you have a write up of what you did without the added comments from everybody else.

Ahaha yeah, I guess I am Barack Obama :D

But you need to read the comments, so you can fully grasp what type of presidency you'll be experiencing in the very near future. But just to give you a headstart, everyone will be required to ride bicycles, drink at least one glass of lemonade a day, and so on and so forth :D

Oh, good, I'll buy stock in Country Time

A wise investor you are :D

Wow 34 pages was a lot to read. I actually read that issue of Peterson's. I saw your truck and thought, "hmm, I wonder if that guy is a member of the explorer website". Also, when I saw you winching with the hood up, I saw your strap on the hood and I thought about that picture in the magazine, but I didn't put two and two together.

Anyway, I like your setup a lot. I would like basically the same setup, but possibly with the Rancho Coilovers. I'm not as handy with the welder though, so it will probably be a while. I need to find someone who will trade. I'll build a garage for them to work in and then they can build my explorer. :D
